Library displays art
Catawba County Library in Newton displayed student art, thanks to John Hoyle Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Contest chairman Gina Abernethy of Newton provided representations of art by area students to the DAR Junior American Citizens art competition. A total of 250 budding artists submitted drawings, photos, collages and banners in the contest. Twenty-one blue-ribbon winners are currently in regional competition. Copies were viewed at the library through the end of the month of April.
