Betty Schwartz, Chaplain of
the John Hoyle Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American
Revolution, welcomed members and guests to a service of remembrance in honor of
Daughters Mary Allran, Dale Hinckley, Nan Stewart, and Betty Gayle Whisnant.
Guests were Nelson Whisnant,
son of Betty Gayle, and Jack Williams, grandson of Dale Hinckley.
A hymn was sung and a prayer
was offered along with the 23rd Psalm, followed by euglogies for Mary Allran;
Dale Hinckley as given by her daughter Suzanne Williams; Nan Stewart; and for
Betty Gayle Whisnant delivered by Merriel Lawing.
A beautiful candle lighting ceremony
followed to symbolize the light of loving remembrance for our departed Daughters. The ceremony closed with a benediction by
Betty.
